MAJOR TRIBAL BRANCHES OF THE AFSHARS
Afshars were not a single clan, but a federation of many oymaqs (tribal branches) that grew over centuries from the Oghuz–Turkmen Afshar root. Different chronicles list slightly different names, but when we combine Persian, Ottoman, Caucasian and Afghan sources, we get a fairly complete picture.
