How This Tree Should Be Read
1) Not a “blood only” tree
Afshars were:
-
military–tribal confederations
-
extended families
-
oath-based brotherhoods
So a branch like Qirqlu is both:
-
a genealogy
-
a political clan
-
a military unit.
2) The Royal Spine
AFSHAR
└── QIRQLU
└── GUNDUZLU
└── ABIVARDI
└── NADER SHAH
└── House of Afshar (continuing guardianship)
3) Three Great Migrations Shaped the Tree
-
Safavid period → Afshars moved to Azerbaijan & Caucasus
-
Nader Shah era → expansion to Afghanistan & Central Asia
-
Ottoman centuries → Anatolian Afshar world.
Each created new “branches” without breaking the root.
