The Origin

Born of Conquest, Forged in Fire

✦ ✦ ✦

From the windswept plains of northwestern Iran, the Afshar tribe rose to reshape the destiny of empires. A Turkic-speaking confederation rooted in the Azerbaijan region, the Afshars were warriors, shepherds, and statesmen — a people whose identity was inseparable from the land they commanded.

In 1736, Nader Shah Afshar — born a humble shepherd's son in Khorasan — crowned himself Shah of Persia, founding the Afsharid Empire. Within three years, his armies had swept from the Caucasus to the gates of Delhi, seizing the legendary Peacock Throne and the Koh-i-Noor diamond from the Mughal Emperor.

The House of Afshar stands today as the living custodian of this extraordinary heritage — preserving the history, culture, and identity of a dynasty that once made the world tremble.
